While
TKTS is the most recognized program started by Theatre Development Fund, the nation’s largest not-for-profit organization serving the performing arts, TDF’s mission to encourage new audiences is supported by several other programs.
TDF’s oldest program is the
Membership program, designed to help people who love the arts and can’t afford full price tickets. For years, the program was limited to New Yorkers because ticket fulfillment was all done by mail and this process required a long lead time. We have now moved virtually the entire program online—tickets are ordered on line and can be picked up at the box office on the night of performance. Thus, TDF is now able to offer a
NATIONAL MEMBERSHIP.
Who qualifies for TDF NATIONAL MEMBERSHIP?
To qualify for TDF NATIONAL MEMBERSHIP, you must live 100 miles or more outside
of New York City and belong to one of the following groups: full-time students,
full-time teachers, union members, retirees, civil service employees, staff
members of not-for-profit organizations, performing arts professionals, members
of the armed forces or clergy.
Visitors who live over 100 miles from New York City now have access to the same extraordinary selection of New York City theatre, dance and music performances at discount prices ($20 to $36 a ticket) that over 80,000 New Yorkers enjoy—but at a special reduced membership of only $12 a year (regular membership for New Yorkers is $30.00 per year), only a dollar a month!
