TDF membership is only available to qualified individuals. Members must re-certify every four years in order to ensure continued eligibility.
OPTION 1: Snap a photo with your smart phone!
The simplest way to submit proof of eligibility is to snap a photo of your qualifying documentation using a smart phone. Then, using the smart phone's email program, send the photo to us at POE@tdf.org. Please include your full name and member ID#.
OPTION 2: Scan it and send it.
If you do not have a smart phone, you can also scan your documentation and email it to POE@tdf.org.
OPTION 3: Snail mail works, too!
If you don't have a smart phone or a scanner, simply mail a copy to us! Proof of eligibility may be mailed to TDF:

What type of proof is required?
Depending on your eligibility category, please submit one of the following forms of proof:
Full-time students (high school or above)
Full-time teachers (primary, junior high or high school faculty, university or college faculty, teacher of drama, dance or music)
You must verify that you are currently enrolled, full-time, in a high school, college or drama, music or dance program. Please send a copy of a current student ID with current semester validation. If your school does not validate your student ID with the date, you may submit a copy of your current transcript. Please edit out or obscure any sensitive information.
You must verify that you are currently employed full-time as a teacher for a primary, junior high or high school, a university/college, or full-time as a teacher of drama, music or dance. Please send a copy of a current and dated employee ID or a signed and dated letter from your HR department on official letterhead.
Recent graduates (26 years of age and under)
You must verify that you are 26 years of age or under. Please send a copy of a valid driver’s license or similar document. Edit out or obscure any sensitive information.
Full-time union members
Please send a copy of a current and dated union ID card or a signed and dated letter from your union administrator on official letterhead.
Retirees (no longer working and at least 62 years of age)
You must verify that you are 62 or over AND no longer working. Please submit a copy of your driver's license along with a copy of an official pension or retirement letter from your former employer or retirement/pension fund provider. If you do not have a pension or retirement letter, TDF accepts a copy of a pension, retirement benefits or Social Security benefits pay stub, or a copy of your Medicare card. Please edit out or obscure any sensitive information.
Full-time civil service employees
Please send a copy of a current and dated employment ID or a signed and dated letter from your HR department on official letterhead.
Full-time staff members of not-for-profit organizations
Full-time non-exempt employees
Please send a copy of a current and dated ID or a signed and dated letter from HR department on official letterhead.
This category is for full-time hourly workers (40 hours a week) who are eligible for overtime pay. Please send a signed and dated letter from your HR department on official letterhead verifying your status as a non-exempt worker.
Full-time performing arts professionals
Please send a copy of current and dated dated union card, current playbill, etc. You may also provide us with a link to your professional website.
Eligible freelance workers must verify that they are not full-time salaried employees of a company or organization. To do this, please fill out this simple freelancer verification form and send it back to us by any of the methods described above.
Members of the armed forces
Please send documentation of your current (or veteran) status in the U.S. Armed Forces. Please edit out or obscure any sensitive information.
