In a 21st century reimagining of that event, the program includes two works for voice and an instrumental group: Francis Poulenc's boisterous Le bal masqué, and a new composition by Mark Applebaum, drawing text from poet K. Silem Mohammad's anagrams of Shakespeare sonnets.
Part of a concert series honoring renowned arts patrons from early 20th century Paris.
