The Avalon is quartet-in-residence at the Northern Illinois University School of Music, a position formerly held by the Vermeer Quartet. 

The Avalon has performed in major venues including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the 92nd St Y, Merkin Hall, and Bargemusic in New York; the Library of Congress and National Gallery of Art in Washington DC; Wigmore Hall in London; and Herculessaal in Munich. 

The quartet’s live performances and conversations are frequently featured on Chicago fine arts radio station WFMT.  They have also been heard on New York’s WQXR and WNYC

Directions Driving

From either I-95 or the Major Deegan Parkway, go west or east, respectively, on I-287 to connect with I-684 going north to Brewster. The Saw Mill or the Hutch connect directly with I-684. Take I-684 until it ends—at that point it merges onto Route 22. Travel on Route 22 for 30 miles into Amenia NY. At the stop light turn right toward Sharon CT (Route 343). In 5 miles you will come to a four way stop sign Turn left (onto Route 41) turn right (onto Route 112)Route 112 terminates at Route 7.
