Vocalist Capathia Jenkins and Award-winning composer/arranger Louis Rosen will return to Birdland to launch their new recording, "PHENOMENAL WOMAN: The Maya Angelou Songsā€ (Di-tone Records), a freshly imagined version of the critically acclaimed song cycle composed and arranged by Louis specifically for Capathia, with lyrics by the iconic American poet, Maya Angelou.

The Jenkins/Rosen collaboration is joined by a terrific New York sextet including pianist Kimberly Grigsby; CJ Camerieri on trumpet and French horn; Hideaki Aomori on alto & tenor saxophones, flute and clarinet; Andy Blanco on vibraphone; Dave Phillips on acoustic and electric bass; and Gary Seligson on drums.
