In the keynote event of the seventh Citywide New York Early Music Celebration, Maestro Frederick Renz leads Early Music New York’s Chamber Orchestra, joined by guest Danish recorder soloist Bolette Roed and Norwegian cornetto soloist Alexandra Opsahl in a vibrant program of 18th century Scandinavian sinfonias and concertos.
Northern lights shine on the works of Swedes Joseph Martin Kraus, Johan Agrell and Johan Helmich Roman, alongside the works of Norwegian Johan Daniel Berlin and the Danish-related works of Johann Adolph Scheibe and Georg Philipp Telemann.
Hailed as "...a revered institution..." (The New York Times), Early Music New York reaps international acclaim for vibrant and provocative performances of historically informed repertoire from the medieval through the classical eras.
