GLAAD Award-winning writer and performer Marga Gomez will return to The Club at La MaMa with the world premiere of Swimming With Lesbians, her 14th one-person show. Gomez’s multi-character romp is set aboard “The Celesbian” the most notorious cruise ship on the seas. Its passengers include Isabelle, an accident-prone lacrosse player yearning for her first lesbian affair, perhaps with the ship's commander Captain Debbie—who claims, “If you can shoot pool, you can steer a ship”—or with Pru Perez—the outwardly alpha but secretly meek bingo caller. Tea will be spilled when Pru’s old boarding school bully surprises her on The Lezzo deck. Adventure will turn to danger and endless buffets. Directed by David Schweizer.
