Meet Camille A. Brown & Dancers, a dance-theatre company that tells stories about current experiences and political views through social dance, tap, ballet, hip-hop, modern, and jazz. The troupe is well known for its evocative pieces such as BLACK GIRL: Linguistic Play, a celebration of African-American womanhood which ran at the Joyce and Jacob's Pillow. This fall, Brown will make her Broadway debut as choreographer with the revival of Once on This Island. Get a taste of her work by watching our documentary short.

This video was directed by Lauren Kay, and shot and edited by Nicholas Guldner. Top image: Mr. TOL E. RAncE, photo by Christopher Duggan.

Here's why Meet the Dance Company exists. You can meet more dance companies here.
