Students dramatize their world

DiMenna, an Off-Broadway director, invited professional actors to the class to perform the plays. DeWitt Clinton HS playwrights rewrite their work with help of Off-Broadway director Stephen DiMenna. Felix LeClerc and Marisol Leon read a play written by a fellow DeWitt Clinton student during a class in which they learn the vocabulary of the theater.

Twice each week, Stephen DiMenna, a Theatre Development Fund resident artist, and classroom teachers Laura Polan and Sylvia Philip taught students at the Jerome Park school about playwriting skills and the vocabulary of the theater.
