New York, New York - November 17, 2006 -- Are you afraid of giving theatre tickets as holiday gifts because you worry that the receipient has either seen the show, or may not like the show you've chosen. Or that they just won't be available on the performance date you've picked? Or spending over $200 for a pair of tickets may be a bit expensive when you have a long gift list? Well, Theatre Development Fund has eliminated these worries with TKTS GIFT CERTIFICATES. You not only give the gift of theatre that allows the the theatrelovers in your life to choose the show they want to see and when they want to see it, but with TKTS discounts of mostly 50% off.
In addition to $100 TKTS GIFT CERTIFICATES, there are also denominations of $25 and $50. They work like cash at both of Theatre Development Fund’s TKTS Ticket Booths, in Times Square (temporarily outside the New York Marriott Marquis on 46th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenues) and at South Street Seaport (at the corner of Front and John Streets) for the purchase of same-day discount tickets to dozens of Broadway, Off Broadway, music and dance productions. (On any given day an average of fifty productions are on sale at TKTS.)
TKTS GIFT CERTIFICATES may be purchased three ways:
(1) on line at tdf’s Web site — www.tdf.org (credit cards only);
(2) by phone by calling 212.221.0885 ext. 446 (credit cards only); or
(3) at either TKTS Ticket Booth during normal booth hours of operation (cash or traveller’s checks only).
