Irish Repertory Theatre: The Honey Trap

Streaming from Sunday, February 15 to Saturday, February 28 for $39.

Irish Rep’s celebrated New York premiere of Leo McGann’s time-hopping thriller wraps up its in-person run this Sunday. But you can stream a recording at home through February 28 courtesy of The League of Live Stream Theater. The Honey Trap toggles between a fateful encounter in a Belfast bar in 1979, when a night of flirting goes awry for a pair of off-duty British soldiers, and an oral history project about the Troubles decades later that sparks revelations and a quest for revenge. Tony nominee Michael Hayden and Samantha Mathis smolder in this intense drama, which earned a New York Times Critic’s Pick. Captions are available.

Mint Theater Company: Crooked Cross

Streaming until Sunday, February 22 for FREE.

Off Broadway’s esteemed Mint Theater Company, which has been unearthing forgotten plays since 1992, presents a recording of its recent US premiere of this eerily timely drama. In 1934, British author Sally Carson published a novel called Crooked Cross that explored the impact of the burgeoning Nazi party on one middle-class German family, a chilling and prescient warning about the rise of hate. The next year, she adapted the story for the stage in the UK. Then her cautionary tale was essentially lost to history until 2025, when her book was reprinted and the Mint mounted her play at a moment when the proliferation of prejudice is once again a concern.

National Theatre at Home: Bacchae

Streaming for $10.

Indhu Rubasingham, the newly minted director of London’s lauded National Theatre, kicked off her tenure with an inventive contemporary adaptation of Euripides’ tragedy Bacchae last year, and now it’s available to stream at home. Directed by Nima Taleghani, the buzzy production featured swearing, sequins, rapping and a surprise appearance by the Artful Dodger from Oliver Twist! This is just one of many fantastic National Theatre shows you can stream, so be sure to browse the entire list. Captions are available for all offerings.
