Tony nominee Liz Callaway (Baby, Miss Saigon) marks the release of her new album of Stephen Schwartz songs, The Wizard and I, with a concert dedicated to his oeuvre and their longtime friendship. In addition to crooning tunes she’s known for, like their collaboration on the animated movie Pocahontas, she’ll perform favorites from Schwartz’s six-decade career, which includes the musicals Wicked, Pippin, Godspell and The Baker’s Wife. Live from 54 Below: To Steve With Love: Liz Callaway Celebrates Sondheim on His Birthday

Another concert from the beloved soprano, this one celebrating the songs and birthday of the late great Stephen Sondheim. Liz Callaway was just 20 years old when she made her Broadway debut in Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along. Four decades later, her 2023 album of his indelible numbers, To Steve With Love based on her cabaret of the same name, earned a Grammy nod. National Theatre at Home: The Importance of Being Earnest starring Sharon D Clarke

National Theatre’s gleeful, contemporary reimagining of Oscar Wilde’s effervescent comedy of amours earned rave reviews in 2024, and now you can stream it at home. The cast includes TV stars Ncuti Gatwa and Hugh Skinner as the two suitors, but it’s Olivier Award-winner Sharon D Clarke who steals the show as the indomitable Lady Bracknell, complete with Caribbean accent and fabulous hats! The Importance of Being Earnest Starring Brian Bedford

Another iconic Earnest! Directed by and starring the legendary Brian Bedford in his final stage performance as Lady Bracknell, Roundabout Theatre Company’s 2011 mounting of Oscar Wilde’s classic features Dana Ivey, Paxton Whitehead and a young Santino Fontana as Algernon. David Hyde Pierce introduces the play and there’s an intermission discussion with Alfred Molina about Wilde’s life and legacy.

Julie Taymor’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Celebrate the warmer temps with Julie Taymor’s enchanting mounting of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which was recorded live onstage in 2014 at Brooklyn’s Theatre for a New Audience. Stage stalwarts Tina Benko, David Harewood and Max Casella lead the cast of Shakespeare’s beloved romantic comedy about young lovers and magical sprites crossing paths in the woods. Taymor puts her creative stamp on the classic, which features projections, puppets and more than a dozen children as fairies.
