Even though in-person theatre and dance are back in full swing, in the name of accessibility we're continuing to round up performances to watch online from the comfort of home. Our curated list spotlights the five best options to stream this weekend, Friday, November 21 to Sunday, November 23, for free or at low cost.

La commedia divina [The Divine Comedy]

Live from 54 Below: Melissa Errico: The Streisand Effect

Live-streaming Saturday, November 22 at 7 p.m. ET for $29.

While wildly different vocalists, the legendary Barbra Streisand and Broadway soprano Melissa Errico are both smart and stylish singers who tackle a lot of the same material. In this brand-new concert with musical direction by Streisand's longtime pianist and conductor, Randy Waldman, Errico will perform some of their shared repertoire, including songs by Michel Legrand and Alan and Marilyn Bergman as well as tunes by David Shire, Marvin Hamlisch and Stephen Sondheim. Streaming live from the cabaret hub's swanky stage. If you prefer to attend in person, click here for info.

Live From 54 Below: Sondheim Unplugged: The Final Season

Live-streaming on Sunday, November 23 at 7 p.m. ET for $29.

After 15 years, this stripped-down concert series celebrating the late songwriting legend Stephen Sondheim is set to sign off. But they're sending in the crooners a few more times! Talented vocalists perform Sondheim tunes accompanied solely by piano alongside special guest including Ramona Mallory from the Broadway revival of A Little Night Music, Lucia Spina from the recent Into the Woods mounting and Liz McCartney from the Jake Gyllenhaal Sunday in the Park with George. Live-streaming from 54 Below's swanky stage. If you prefer to attend in person, click here for info.

National Theatre at Home: The Estate

Streaming for $10.

In 2020, London's lauded National Theatre launched its own streaming service featuring professional stage captures of its productions. While you can buy a subscription, shows are also available to rent individually. New to the roster is The Estate, Shaan Sahota's acclaimed drama about a British-Sikh politician (Adeel Akhtar) whose ambition and success are threatened by family secrets and schisms. A 72-hour rental costs $10 and captions are available. It's just one of many fantastic National Theatre shows you can stream, so be sure to browse the entire list.

Hamlet Starring Ian McKellen

Streaming on Amazon Prime for $5

Sean Mathias staged Hamlet at Theater Royal Windsor in 2021 with octogenarian Ian McKellen in the title role of the moody monarch—a part he had played to great acclaim a half century prior. But this film adaptation of that production proves that age is just a number as he is chilling and compelling in this ghost-filled tale of rage and revenge.
