Even though in-person theatre and dance are back in full swing, in the name of accessibility we're continuing to round up performances to watch online from the comfort of home. Our curated list spotlights the five best options to stream this weekend, Friday, October 31 to Sunday, November 2, for free or at low cost. Remember, daylight saving time ends on Sunday, so set your clock back an hour!

Manhattan Theatre Club: Punch Live from Broadway

Live-streaming Thursday, October 30 at 7 p.m.; Friday, October 31 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, November 1 at 2 and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, November at 2 p.m. ET for $75.

Manhattan Theatre Club is live-streaming the final week of performances of James Graham's Punch on Broadway, the powerful true story of a young British hellion (Will Harrison), who decks and kills a stranger one drink-and-drug-fueled night. Based on Jacob Dunne's memoir Right from Wrong, the ensemble drama delves into his life before and after the incident, and how connecting with his victim's family set him on a path to redemption. Harrison is a knockout in his Broadway debut, and Sam Robards and two-time Tony winner Victoria Clark are devastating as parents trying to find their way after the loss of a child.

Theater in Quarantine: Phantom of the Opera

Live-streaming Thursday, October 30; Friday, October 31; Sunday, November 2 and Monday, November 3 at 8 p.m. ET for $22.

No, not Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical. Obie-winning theatre-maker Joshua William Gelb and his endlessly innovative Theater in Quarantine present a digital reimagining of the legendary 1925 silent horror classic Phantom of the Opera, a haunting tale of obsession and sabotage. Performed in his East Village studio and live-streamed to at-home audiences, the show will offer two perspectives: you can watch the performance or click to see the behind-the-scenes construction. A thrilling high/low-tech experience.

I Put a Spell On You: The 10th Anniversary

Streaming Friday, October 31 until Monday, November 3 for $35.

Last Monday, Broadway scene-stealer Jay Armstrong Johnson (Hands on a Hardbody, On the Town) resurrected the bewitching Sanderson Sisters from the cult classic Hocus Pocus for their annual high-camp Halloween performance, and starting on Friday you can watch a recording online. Cackle at the holiday high jinks of Johnson (in the Bette Midler role) and his sorceress siblings played by Allison Godleski and Amanda Williams Ware as they welcome special ghoulish guest stars including drag icon Lagoona Bloo, Moulin Rouge! The Musical Tony nominee Robyn Hurder, Taylor Iman Jones, Krysta Rodriguez and other Broadway divas. Proceeds benefit the Ali Forney Center, which serves unhoused LGBTQ+ youth.

Barbara Cook Live In Concert: Mostly Sondheim

Streaming for FREE.

Even though glorious soprano Barbara Cook never starred in a Sondheim musical on Broadway, she sang plenty of his numbers on the Main Stem in the revues Sondheim on Sondheim and Barbara Cook's Broadway! But her 2002 solo show Mostly Sondheim was her ultimate tribute to the singular songwriter. Inspired by her love of his work as well as an article Sondheim penned for The New York Times about songs he wished he had created, the concert includes tunes he wrote ("Everybody Says Don't," "Send in the Clowns," "Losing My Mind") and some he didn't ("I Got Lost in His Arms," "The Trolley Song"). Cook sings them all superbly.

Theater in Quarantine: Nosferatu, A 3D Symphony of Horror

Streaming for FREE.

In honor of Halloween, here's another scary stream from Theater in Quarantine: the company's 2023 digital reimagining of the iconic 1922 horror flick Nosferatu—the one with the scary (not sexy) vampire. Another high/low-tech experience, this terrifying tale evokes old midnight movies with handcrafted puppets and retro design. Watch it in 2D or, if you have the glasses lying around, 3D!
