WATCH: Backstage at the Autism-Friendly Performance of 'SpongeBob SquarePants'

Date: Aug 27, 2018

Last month, we kicked off our autism-friendly performances for the 2018-2019 season with SpongeBob SquarePants. We were thrilled to get a chance to share this exuberant musical with families who have children on the spectrum before it closes on September 16. Cast member Kelvin Moon Loh took over our TDF Instagram feed to give theatre lovers a backstage peek at this special show. Because the house lights are dimmed but kept on to accommodate audiences with sensory sensitivities, the actors are able to see the audience reacting, which they absolutely love. Check out what the cast of SpongeBob had to say about their experience in the video below.

TDF has four additional autism-friendly performances coming up this season. The Lion King on September 30 is already sold out, but you still have a chance to grab tickets to Frozen on Sunday, November 4, Aladdin on Sunday, March 3, 2019 and My Fair Lady on Sunday, May 5, 2019. Tickets go on sale approximately six to eight weeks before each performance. Sign up for our autism-friendly email list to be notified when tickets are available.
