The 2017 White Light Festival - the eighth annual celebration of music’s capacity to illuminate the many dimensions of our interior lives.

What is very rewarding is to feel how quickly White Light is becoming an important part of New York’s fall cultural landscape as well as a strong international presence, and I think that this year’s festival will reinforce its significance. I think its strength is its concept: namely the power of art to illuminate and nourish one’s interior life. In a distracted and externally driven culture, art as sanctuary has enormous resonance for audiences. The festival has been deeply meaningful to artists, as well, because its objective is precisely aligned with the impact they want their work to have.
