Trumpeter and composer Dave Douglas returns to The Appel Room with another one-of-a-kind program.

In Dizzy Atmosphere, Douglas will use Gillespie repertoire as a starting point for improvisation and exploration. Gillespie's music has the necessary depth for it to be carried in many different directions — as demonstrated by a vast and varied history of incredible interpretations — and Douglas always finds a delightfully unexpected path towards interesting musical fusions.
