Playing @
Broadway Theatre
1681 Broadway, New York, NY 10019
From Talking Heads front man David Byrne ("Burning Down the House"), beat master DJ Fatboy Slim ("Praise You") and Tony-winning director Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge! The Musical) comes Here Lies Love—the "sensational...one-of-a-kind" musical "like no Broadway show ever" (Time Out New York).

The Broadway Theatre has undergone a complete transformation into Club Millennium, where a young woman gets catapulted to a life of fame, excess and intoxicating power after winning the hearts of two political rivals. Witness the dazzling rise of former Filipina First Lady Imelda Marcos' and her subsequent fall at the hands of the Philippine People Power Revolution through "exhilarating songs" (USA Today) and "imaginative spectacle" (The Guardian) over 90 breathless minutes.

Whether you sit in traditional seats or move on the dance floor, Here Lies Love is "an experience the likes of which Broadway has rarely if ever seen" (Variety).

Reviews

  • Four stars! The groundbreaking, floor-shaking Here Lies Love makes space for itself like no Broadway show ever has . . . The kinetic rush of the design—which includes lighting by Justin Townsend, projections by Peter Nigrini and sound by M.L. Dogg and Cody Spencer—is matched by an energetic ensemble, perfectly costumed by Clint Ramos, that keeps the action spinning as it executes precise choreography by longtime David Byrne collaborator Annie-B Parson.
—Adam Feldman, Time Out New York
  • You can’t help but plug into the production’s current . . . Here Lies Love is the kind of stimulant that makes you believe you could dance all night. —Peter Marks, The Washington Post
  • Grade: A- It's an important history lesson, an innovative use of theater space and a disco dance party, all at once . . . This is an extremely impressive blending of content and form . . . Bravo to a Broadway show that's willing to ask such big questions in such an entertaining way. —Christian Holub, Entertainment Weekly
