A WAKE OR A WEDDING by Richard Pearson Thomas is a sparkling, fast-paced, and hilarious new opera that will keep you laughing from start to finish.

Eight delightful and eccentric characters take you on an effervescent musical journey to Montana in 1898, where Pierpont Mackerel Davenport, ruthless copper King, has dropped dead on the eve of his daughter’s wedding. The topsy-turvy household is shaken up by the arrival of Marcella Sorella, Opera Diva extraordinaire and her cohort, Egyptian Tenor Raimondo Vecchiofaraone, is he from Cairo, Egypt or Cairo, Illinois? Surprise relationships are revealed, whereby art meets life, the tables are turned, and all characters reveal their true identities.

Imagine if the TV show DALLAS was mixed with a Chekhov comedy, but set in the Old West to a lyric opera score
