The world-renowned Mikhailovsky Ballet Company will tour the US for the first time in November 2014. The programme will include world classics, ballets of the Soviet period, and contemporary productions, and will showcase the company's ongoing search for new technical forms.
Audiences will have the chance to enjoy the romantic Giselle, regarded as a masterpiece of classical ballet; the charming and evocative Don Quixote; and a production that has never been shown overseas – The Flames of Paris, based on the events of the French Revolution. The collection of one-act ballets, Three Centuries of Russian Ballet, includes Le Halte de cavalerie (The Cavalry Halt) Class Consert and Prelude.
