Tensions escalate between Tate and Joanne at their mother’s hospital bedside.
As they attack each other’s smallest words and biggest choices, they are ambushed by two strangers who make a shocking claim about their grandfather’s WWII tour of duty. War is a wildly provocative, bracingly funny, and all-too-human portrait of a family navigating the landmines of the past as they try to broker peace with each other—and themselves—in the present.

Acclaimed playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins makes his LCT3 debut with the world premiere of War. His recent plays An Octoroon and Appropriate, which the New York Times praised as “highly entertaining, sharp, and peopled with complex characters,” were honored together with the 2014 OBIE Award for Best New American Play. He was recently short-listed for the 2016 Pulitzer Prize in Drama for his play Gloria.

Wheelchair access to the Claire Tow Theater is available via two elevators located inside the Beaumont lobby, at the Lincoln Center plaza level. The lobby and box office open one hour prior to curtain. At all other times, please visit the main LCT box office for ticket sales and will-call pick-up.

Wheelchair accessible restrooms are located on the lobby levels of the Vivian Beaumont, Mitzi E. Newhouse and Claire Tow Theaters.
Seating

Theatre entrance is at Row A which is the only row accessible to people using wheelchairs. There are two steps up per row to reach all other seats.

Enter through the glass doors in front of the large curved mural, and use the access lift on the left. The doorbell next to the lift will call a security guard to assist if necessary. The Beaumont lobby and orchestra level is accessible by a ramp located to the right of the box office.
