After his turn as Prince Igor last season, and a starring role in a new Metropolitan Opera production of Le Nozze di Figaro, opera’s most dashing bass-baritone, Ildar Abdrazakov,“one of the most sought-after young basses in the operatic world” (Vanity Fair), will make his North-American solo recital debut on January 29th, when he presents “An Evening with Ildar Abdrazakov” on the main stage of New York’s Carnegie Hall.
Joined by pianist Mzia Bakhtouridze, the Russian bass will present an intimate and romantic program of works by Fauré, Liszt, and Ravel with highlights from the golden age of Russian opera, by Glinka, Tchaikovsky, and Mussorgsky.
Mr. Abdrazakov made his La Scala debut in 2001 at age 25, and has since become a mainstay at leading houses worldwide, including New York’s Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna State Opera, and Munich’s Bavarian State Opera. The Russian bass recently opened the Metropolitan Opera season with a “standout” (New York Times) performance in the title role of Richard Eyre’s new production of The Marriage of Figaro.

There are two elevators that service Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. They are located in the east and west corners of the lobby. The east elevator provides access to the Parquet, Blavatnik Family First Tier, Second Tier, and Dress Circle levels; the west elevator runs express to the Dress Circle. Please note that there is no elevator service to the Balcony and that elevator service to the Dress Circle is discontinued once the concert begins. -
