JACK will perform Amy William’s Richter Textures, recently composed for and recorded by the quartet. The program will also include Andrew Greenwald’s revolutionary A thing is a hole in a thing it is not. as well as the world premiere of David Liptak’s String Quartet No. 3. To close the show, JACK will tackle Elliott Carter’s rarely performed and explosively challenging String Quartet No. 3.
The JACK Quartet electrifies audiences worldwide with “explosive virtuosity” (Boston Globe) and “viscerally exciting performances” (New York Times). The recipient of Lincoln Center’s Martin E. Segal Award, New Music USA’s Trailblazer Award, and the CMA/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, JACK is focused on the commissioning and performance of new works.
