The Swallow / Golondrina explores several dynamics. As originally conceived the story revolves around two sisters and the death of their dominant and abusive father. Simultaneously, the streets of their city have erupted into a clash between the government and its citizens. The parallels between the patriarchal family and the patriarchal government are clear and present.
In this new production we are using two male actors to play the sisters and a female actor to represent their inner feminine side. Feminine and masculine reside in all of us.
