Violinist Tim Fain performs a special evening celebrating Orange Mountain Music's release of the world-premiere recording of Partita for Solo Violin, a new work written specifically for Fain by Philip Glass

The Partita is the central work around which their worldwide and critically acclaimed duo performances are based, and is the centerpiece of Fain’s multimedia project “Portals.” All this collaboration has created a long and powerful friendship, with Glass interested in Fain’s interpretations and Fain an advocate of Glass’s music—as a soloist for both Glass violin concertos, as well as for his Double Concerto for Violin & Cello, which he also recorded.

A celebration of Fain’s dedication to Glass and his music, the recording also features solo violin music from Einstein on the Beach, the interludes from the Second Violin Concerto, and the solo violin music from Book of Longing, the piece in from which the Glass/Fain collaboration evolved.
