Bryn Cohn + Artists premieres Skin, an interdisciplinary adventure of integrated scenic design, costuming, music and highly crafted movement invention.
Skin is conceptually rooted in how we form an identity based on archetypes of gender, sexuality, social castes, and politics. The company examines how to physically and metaphorically “build” a person in a continuous cycle of creation and destruction until the most authentic self is found. Six mannequins act as six voyeurs in the space, observing the entire performance but lacking the human ability to fully participate.
