On four Wednesday nights in June the 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th, acclaimed Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Loudon Wainwright III will perform Surviving Twin.
The piece is a posthumous collaboration in which Wainwright will combine and connect some of his best songs with the writing of his late father Loudon Wainwright Jr, the esteemed LIFE Magazine columnist . His column The View From Here appeared in the magazine throughout the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. The evening will be a game of creative catch between son and father, exploring issues like birth, loss, parenthood, fashion, pet ownership, and mortality.
Surviving Twin has been previously performed at Manhattan’s Westside Theatre and as part of UNC’s Playmakers series.
