Five-time Emmy® Award nominee Jesse Tyler Ferguson will make his highly anticipated return to Broadway as more than 40 outrageous characters in the smash hit comedy Fully Committed directed by Tony® nominee Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect, Avenue Q),

You think you've had a bad day? Meet Sam. He works the red-hot reservation line at one of New York's trendiest restaurants, where the best food inspires the worst behavior. Coercion, petty threats, bribes, histrionics - a cast of desperate callers, all brought to life by Ferguson, will stop at nothing to land a prime reservation, or the right table.

Reviews

  • FOUR STARS (out of five)
Before he became a household name as the uptight Mitchell on Modern Family, Jesse Tyler Ferguson was one of New York’s most inventive comic character actors. You can sense his delight at stretching those muscles in the Broadway revival of Fully Committed, Becky Mode’s 1999 comedy about the power of entitlement.

    -------TimeOut NY
  • It’s only food, of course. But in the end, it’s so much more. It’s ego. It’s prestige. It’s power. It’s getting away with silly, outrageous demands because you’re the boss. Or you’re Gwyneth Paltrow, whose assistant calls the restaurant so yet another assistant can be sent to change the lightbulbs near her table for 16 so that the ambiance is just right. Sam, of course, is an actor who hasn’t been on stage in a while. Late in the show, his agent’s assistant — the agent herself never deigns to speak to Sam — tells Sam that he isn’t getting cast because he doesn’t project “entitlement” in his auditions. It’s an odd word. We might expect he’d be told he lacks “confidence.”

    -------The Wrap
  • The amount of concentration required by Ferguson is impressive and director Jason Moore runs a tight ship. One stray ring or bobbled cue could set the whole thing off, but Ferguson runs through "Fully Committed" surefooted like an Olympian on an obstacle course.
