Pedro Pablo “Pedrito” Martinez was born in Havana, Cuba, Sept 12, 1973. He began his musical career at the age of 11 performing as vocalist and percussionist with Cuban legends Tata Guines and Yoruba Andabo. Since settling in New York City in the fall of 1998, Pedrito has recorded or performed with Wynton Marsalis, Paul Simon, Eddie Palmieri, Paquito D’Rivera, Bruce Springsteen and Sting, and has contributed to over 75 albums.
Deeply rooted in tradition while simultaneously evolving the unique sound of his cutting-edge quartet, The Pedrito Martinez Group, Martinez is "writing a new chapter in Afro-Cuban music" (NPR). They are joined by special guest Issac Delgado, the founder of the super group NG La Banda and one of the most popular salsa vocalists today.
Habana Dreams is the much-anticipated follow-up to the Grammy-nominated debut by The Pedrito Martinez Group. Featured album guests include Latin icons Ruben Blades, Issac Delgado, Descemer Bueno, Telmary Diaz, and Angelique Kidjo.
