To create Weed Heart, Jill Sigman embarked on extensive research about the plants we call “weeds” and the hidden histories they reveal.
Movement improvisation, urban foraging, seed storing, sculpture, community discussions, and tea serving have all been part of her process. Weed Heart investigates resilience, toxicity, invisibility, and power, and offers a ritual to re-connect us to plants, people, and places.
Performed by Sigman, vocalist Kristin Norderval, and a cast of spontaneous urban plants in an installation of salvaged metal readymades.
