Radicals in Miniature is a series of textual-sonic odes to personal icons of 20th century “alternative” culture that lost their toehold on immortality and (in the pre-Internet era) their place in public memory.
Conjuring years between 1967’s Summer Of Love (not everyone’s “love”) and 1982/83, when The New York Times finally published the word ”AIDS,” Radicals is performed by 3-time Obie Award winner Ain Gordon and So Percussion's Josh Quillen, theatrically annotating our cultural record via alternative requiems to the undersung: punk drummer David Hahn, dance reveler Elaine Shipman, club performer John Sex, disco artist Sylvester, and more.
In Radicals, Gordon makes his first stage appearance since the acclaimed Off-Broadway production Spalding Gray: Stories Left To Tell.
