Hudson Hall presents the 2nd annual Hudson Jazz Festival at Hudson Hall’s historic 1855 theater. Curated by notable Hudson-based jazz pianist Armen Donelian, the festival highlights talent with a melodious reach that spans the globe.

From the hot Afro-Cuban beats of 2019 GRAMMY nominee Bobby Sanabria to the Middle Eastern polyphonic melodies and contemporary grooves of Amir ElSaffar's Arabic jazz fusion, the Hudson Jazz Festival 2019  is a ticket to a weekend of first class world music on a staycation budget.

Sanabria’s infectious grooves are grounded in his tenures with such legendary figures as Dizzy Gillespie, Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, Paquito D’Rivera, and the Godfather of Afro-Cuban Jazz, Mario Bauzá

Four powerhouse players evening made for jazz lovers: NEA Jazz Master David Liebman, pioneer of the free jazz movement, Jay Clayton,"fleet full toned soloist” (Los Angeles Times) Jay Anderson, and renowned pianist, 2002 Fulbright Scholar, author and HJF curator, Armen Donelian.

Jazz and Middle Eastern music beautifully intertweine in this dynamic ensemble led by the celebrated trumpeter, santur player, and vocalist.
