Rose Theater
Frederick P. Rose Hall Broadway at 60th Street, New York, NY 10019
This inventive evening, which premiered at National Sawdust in 2016 to great acclaim, pairs Matthew Aucoin’s new dramatic cantata, The Orphic Moment, with an innovative staging of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice?,? in a version specially re-conceived for MasterVoices?.

The effect is a provocative probing of the psychology of Orpheus’ crucial turning point, conducted by Ted Sperling, directed by Zack Winokur with scenic design by Douglas Fitch, featuring countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo, soprano Kiera Duffy, soprano Lauren Snouffer, dancer Bobbi Jene Smith, and violinist Keir GoGwiltOrchestra of St. Luke’s, and the MasterVoices chorus
