Charles Atlas stages “The Kitchen Follies,” bringing together a range of artists across performance art, dance, and music to stage the ultimate performance art variety show.

Some are artists with whom Atlas has had relationships for many decades, including composer Julianna Barwick who will create a new work in collaboration with Jodi Melnick, performance artist Johanna Constantine, duo DANCENOISE, and choreographer Stanley Love.

Others are emerging American artists with whom Atlas will be collaborating for the first time, such as choreographers Laurie Berg, the Illustrious Blacks (May 3–5 only), Imma Asher (May 10–12 only) and Solo Termite, with more to be announced! Atlas will film each performance live, using video cameras to simultaneously record, mix, and project footage as part of the performances.

Hosted by Tyler Ashley, the Dauphine of Bushwick, the evening will be punctuated by new video portraits Atlas is making of contemporary artists as a continuation of his “Instant Fame!” project.
