Under the artistic direction of Will Crutchfield, the exciting new ensemble Teatro Nuovo presents a week-long festival of 19th-century opera, featuring today's brightest stars, period instruments, and a unique style of semi-staging that brings each opera to full dramatic life in concert format. Plus master classes, lectures, and more!

In Rossini’s time, when an opera was re-mounted in a new city, the composer would write some new music for it. Over time, Rossini wrote alternate pieces for practically half the score. Tancredi rifatto (Tancredi re-made) is a different score, with some of Rossini’s best music, most of it unknown even to Rossini fans.

Tancredi rifatto
presents three standout participants in recent Bel Canto revivals elsewhere, mezzo-soprano Aleks Romano as Tancredi (L’assedio di Calais at Glimmerglass), soprano Christine Lyons as Amenaide (I Capuleti e i Montecchi with Saltworks Opera), and tenor David Margulis as Argirio (Il barbiere di Siviglia with Arizona Opera). The cast also includes mezzo-soprano Augusta Caso as Isaura, bass James Harrington as Orbazzano, baritone Junhan Choi as Roggero and mezzo-soprano Madison Marie McIntosh as Eco.
