A poignant and probing play about the life of a contemporary American woman.
JOAN is about the life of a woman named Joan. She is restless. She is loving. She is gracious. She’s a jerk. At the heart of Joan lies a mystery.
A quintessential American woman of the 21st century, Joan (two-time Tony nominated stage and screen actress Johanna Day) fundamentally disagrees about what is happening in her life and why - she's a mom, a wife, a lover and a sister, fulfilling these roles with grace and love.
Yet she's also reckless, at odds with her surroundings and searching for meaning underneath the pastoral surface of her life... Who she is and who she wants to be can't quite seem to meet in the middle.
