RANDOM ACTS is a memoir piece about Ms. Hinrichs’ early childhood growing up on the Southside of Chicago in the late 1960s.
Her father was a young Lutheran Minister on the front lines of the Civil Rights movement. His first parish was on what was then the dividing line between the white and black neighborhoods, and he was intent on following the teachings of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The story is based on what she witnessed as a young white girl watching both the outside world and her family as they struggled through times of painful transformation.
