Daryl Roth Theatre
101 East 15th Street, New York City, NY 10003
Experience this extraordinary, socially distanced event based on the brilliantly terrifying novel by José Saramago, adapted by Tony Award®-winning playwright Simon Stephens with spell-binding storytelling narrated by Juliet Stevenson at the Daryl Roth Theatre in Union Square. A uniquely thrilling experience, BLINDNESS includes extended periods of complete blackout designed to transport the audience to a world changed forever, reminding us that out of the darkness, we will all emerge stronger. Through sound and light, it portrays events in a European city hit by an epidemic that causes blindness. Attendees will hear the narrative unfolding around them through headphone technology while surrounded by immersive lighting and atmospheric design.

CRITICS' PICK: "“A thrill for long-deprived ears and eyes.” - The New York Times

"An exquisitely told story of resilience and hope." - The Guardian
Editor’s Pick: "Artistically and technologically pioneering...Juliet Stevenson relays the story with her usual impeccable verbal poise."  - TheatreMania

Important notices: Late seating is not permitted; the running time is 70 minutes.   Due to the mature subject matter, Blindness is recommended for ages 15+.   No food and drink except water are permitted in the venue. Performance includes extended periods of complete blackout.
