Space Dogs tells the heartbreaking, mind-blowing true story of Laika and the Chief Designer -- a stray dog and the top-secret Russian scientist who sent her to space during the Cold War. Written and performed by actor-musicians Van Hughes and Nick Blaemire, it is a sweeping, kaleidoscopic tale of invention, betrayal, international political intrigue, and the immortal friendship that exists between man and dog, as they journey together to the stars.

COVID Safety Information:
In our continuing efforts to create as safe an environment as possible, we have updated our COVID-19 policy with guidance from the CDC and NYS Department of Health. We are requiring that everyone who visits and works in the Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space provide proof of full vaccination and proof of having received a booster, if eligible, and remain masked at all times while in our theater space.
If you received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, you are eligible for a booster 5 months after completing your primary vaccination series.  If you received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, you are eligible for a booster 2 months after completing your primary vaccination.  If you received the AstraZenca vaccine, you are eligible for a booster 6 months after completing your primary vaccination series.
All audience members will need to provide proof of full vaccination and booster, if eligible, along with a government issued photo ID with matching name at the point of building entry on performance date.
Proof of vaccination and booster can be shown with one of the following:
your vaccination card;
photo of your vaccination card;
or via an official governmental mobile app or website; NYS residents or those who received a vaccination in NYS may present proof of vaccination via the Excelsior Pass app and the NYC Covid Safe App.
If you are not yet eligible for a booster and provide proof of full vaccination, you will still be permitted to attend performances.
Masks must be worn at all times in the building. KN95/N-95 masks provide the strongest protection against COVID-19 and are strongly encouraged for audience members.
Guests 16 and older need to show photo ID and proof of vaccination and booster, if eligible. Guests under 16 need to be fully vaccinated and accompanied by an adult who adheres to MCC's policy of full vaccination and boosters.
As MCC seeks to make our theater more accessible to all, setting an appropriate and effective health and safety plan has been challenging. At this time MCC will not make exceptions for in-person attendees who are not vaccinated and boosted if eligible, regardless of the reason. We understand if you are unable to receive the vaccine, and we regret that we are not able to welcome you to a performance at this time.
