Written during Nero’s brutal persecution of the followers of “the way,” the Gospel of Mark was recited in its entirety to give courage to this community of quiet rebels, whose radical compassion threatened the status-quo. *mark is a solo performance that seeks to reclaim the original power and urgency of this ancient message. Magis Theatre Company presents a revival of their acclaimed 2014 production.
Originally produced at La MaMa ETC and directed by Luann Purcell Jennings, it features original music composed by internationally acclaimed, award-winning composer Elizabeth Swados. Magis Artistic Director George Drance will again perform the role of the storyteller. The current production is directed by Jackie Lucid.
