The 2023-24 Season at New York City Ballet kicks off with a four-week all-Balanchine extravaganza, honoring their foundation with a collection of works by Founder and Founding Choreographer George Balanchine. Beginning with a week of his dazzling Jewels, the fall also welcomes a special one-night-only 75th Anniversary program featuring the thrilling ballets performed at NYCB’s inaugural performance on October 11, 1948. Among a bevy of his most enduring works, additional highlights include the sweeping Serenade, the first original work Balanchine created in America, the festive Stars and Stripes, said to contain more dancing than many full-length ballets, a revival of the whimsical Bourrée Fantasque and the stunning spectacle known as Symphony in C.
