Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells are back on Broadway, putting on a show together because they just love each other so damn much. This hilarious new musical tells the story of Bud and Doug, two best pals putting on a show together because they just love each other so damn much. It’s art imitating life imitating art! Reviews

  • [Josh] Gad and [Andrew] Rannells, a Mutt and Jeff team since they starred in “The Book of Mormon” in 2011, couldn’t be better. ... Together they land every joke. ... [Alex] Timbers provides innumerable bits of clever stage business

—Jesse Green, The New York Times
  • Deliciously silly ... if you feel the need to laugh and let go, you can trust Andrew Rannells and Josh Gad, formerly stars of The Book of Mormon, to be your expert facilitators. ... with fabulous book, music, and lyrics by Scott Brown and Anthony King ... Under Alex Timbers’ excellent direction, Rannells and Gad are great pacers of jokes, as well as tellers of them. You’ll head into the night smiling widely, thankful for musical theater—and all-round silliness.

    —Tim Teeman, The Daily Beast
  • Grade: A! The plot ... lends itself to brilliant, laugh-out-loud moments of silliness, and don't you miss silliness? ... [Josh] Gad's sonorous tenor can fill all of James Earl Jones' eponymous Theatre while [Andrew] Rannells' high kicks are still grazing his eyelashes. All the while, their infectious energy makes the two hours (including intermission) fly by.  ... This is a two-man show that puts on full display just what makes Gad and Rannells such special performers. ... Guaranteed laughs.
