Nadia Guevara will direct Cell by Cassandra Medley, which follows 3 women working at an immigrant detention center and “deftly explores the dirty antidemocratic secret of institutionalized racism” (New York Times). Ibi Owolabi will direct Poof! by Lynn Nottage, which finds one woman grappling with what to do just moments after her abusive husband spontaneously combusts.
