Chain Theatre / 36th Street Theatre
312 West 36th Street, New York City, NY 10018
After the death of her ex-boyfriend, grieving social media-obsessed millennial Katie Mack uses the only thing she really knows how to use to bring him back—her phone. A ninety-minute interactive performance where the audience uses their phones to try to bring the now-deceased, Eric Anthamatten, back to life. A show about loss in the age of Instagram, Facebook & TikTok and the little legacies we leave behind. Based on a true story. Bring Your Own Phone. Off the Wall Productions presents this New York premiere.
Off Broadway
Show Notes: Bring your phone! Mobile phone use before and during performance encouraged
Audience Advisory: Unlike traditional theater going experiences, this show is INTERACTIVE and IMMERSIVE. What that means at #UglyCry is that we cannot tell the story without you! We can promise there will be nothing done to embarrass you, but we might ask you to be brave and interact with the set, the performer and each other. All you need is your smartphone, yourself and a sprinkle of grief.
