A towering figure in popular music around the globe—and national hero to many at home—Brazilian virtuoso Caetano Veloso returns to BAM with Meu Coco, his first album in nine years. Over an illustrious five-decade career, the father of Tropicália has proved himself as both a piercing social commentator and a romantic balladeer, drawing inspiration from sources as diverse as The Beatles, concrete poetry, the French Dadaists and Brazilian modernist poets. Playful, tender and uncompromising, this new album finds Veloso as original as ever.
