The invention of basketball jumps to life onstage in this new family-friendly musical comedy. At the turn of the 20th century, a young teacher named James Naismith is given an assignment by his boss: devise a new game for physical education students that can be played indoors during the colder months. Using a ball and 2 peach baskets, James invents what he hopes will prove to be The Perfect Game—what his students like to call "Basket-Ball". Simultaneously, we follow two present-day basketball coaches, Nancy and Frank, who are struggling as their team approaches the big game. The historic Jim Naismith magically appears to mentor present-day coach Nancy. As Jim coaches Nancy, she and Frank get their team in shape and fall in love in the meantime. In the end, it all comes down to the big game... the home team vs. the arch rivals! Who will win?
