A new solo play with music by writer and performer Justin Elizabeth Sayre. How to be one of Kerouac’s “Wild Ones” and how to survive. A coming-of-age story set against jazz, mental illness and the road wherever it leads. With a totalled car, a few broken ribs and facing a few drug charges, our narrator, Jay, is sent away to “dry out” in the mental ward to avoid further trouble. For a month, the charismatic young narrator comes face to face with the terrible pain that brought him to the brink of death.
