Tina Howe’s last play, Where Women Go, tracks the journey of Zilla, a recently widowed New Yorker whose seemingly mundane daily routine is broken up by a visit to a dermatologist when an herb garden begins to sprout from her legs. She meets her friend at her new favorite lunch spot: Subway. Final stop, a mesmerizing street vendor, fixated by the city’s pageantry of plurality. The play features spontaneous group singing, bizarre food, a zither, a silent man wearing a parachute and an awakening from absurdity to abundance, kindness to connection. Presented by The Tent Theater Company.
