Celebrate 10 years of Queensboro Dance Festival as they dance across Queens every weekend presenting free and outdoor performances, classes and parties featuring an incredibly diverse lineup of Queens-based dance companies.
Launched in 2014, Queensboro Dance Festival (QDF) was created out of a need for easier artist access to a dance community within Queens, and to cultivate audiences in underserved Queens neighborhoods. Each summer, they tour throughout Queens’ local parks, plazas and streets, reaching 10,000 people each year. They proudly present professional Queens-based dance companies of diverse cultures and styles, offering over 30 free outdoor performances, classes and dance parties to the public. They also provide dance companies with free professional development and Queens arts resources.
Shows are typically 70 minutes, no intermission and feature 6-8 different dance companies from all over Queens. After each show, there is a “QDF Danceback,” a brief dance lesson led by one of the dance companies, and all are welcome to participate! There’s a different lineup combination of dance companies at every show, so you can see something new each time. More information about this year's participating dance companies is available here.
