Coming off her sold-out run at Joe’s Pub with Plays for the Plague Year (Winner of the Drama Desk 2023 Award for Best Songs in a Play), playwright/singer-songwriter Suzan-Lori Parks fronts her 8-piece band, Sula & The Joyful Noise, for a neo-soul evening of booty-shaking, statement-making and mind-melting music. Come join her in her test kitchen! She'll be re-tooling old songs and trying out new ones as she puts together a brand new theatre show. This special performance will commemorate Juneteenth, marking the first full day of freedom with an evening of soul-stirring music and celebration.
